Passion for the Art of Bow Making
Joe is a bowyer with a deep passion—some might even call it an obsession—for crafting unique, handcrafted longbows. He loves sharing his enthusiasm for archery with young people and actively connects with the traditional archery community through various social media platforms. Since beginning his bow-making journey in early 2024, Joe has built over fifty longbows, including board bows, stave bows, spliced bows, take-down bows, self bows, and backed bows. He works with a wide range of wood species, such as hickory, maple, osage orange, yew, and red oak.

Kevin - "Pappa Joe Maple Board Bow: Came FAST. Packed VERY well, even had custom plastic cups in the box ends to keep the limbs from poking out, nice touch. Super nice served string. The shellac finish is a really nice touch, way better than poly. This is a handcrafted, off the knuckle OG bow, exactly what I was looking for, nice pyramid'ish limb design. Came with goodies as advertised and lots of paperwork, even a festive fleece deer-themed bow sock. Shoots really well and is accurate, it hits HARD. BH- 5.75". 25 arrows through it today- all good, would have shot more but it is super windy out there. My touches were a bike innertube grip, beaver string dampers and electrical tape on the lower limb tip for protection. The customer experience was 6 stars- Pappa Joe is very nice and super accommodating. Just get one while you can!"
